Of the nearly ten friends I have polled, only two of them had an unmedicated birth and one of those had a home birth. All the others had an epidural (no judgment) and all seem to repeat the same refrain, "It's great that you want to have a natural birth, but you should keep an open mind." I know there's a lot of new moms in here and this question has been on my mind since I gave birth. When I was pregnant, I was always annoyed by people asking what I planned to do for labor, then reminding me (ever so nicely again thank you!) that birth doesn't always go per plan. I meant to make a post like four months ago celebrating the birth of my son. I had an induced labor on the 27th of March went into the hospital at 6 am and had him at 3:49pm. So, my first two labors were delightfully fast. Once I was in active labor my first born was out in about 7 push sets, my second came out in 3. I went from zero to "hey look, it's a baby!" with my second in about 2 hours. I'm pregnant with my third now, and I've gotta ask- is it likely to be even faster this time?
